The 'Rising Relic 2' sculpture is one a series of 13 pieces that are part of an ongoing concern with monolithic forms that I have dealt with over a number of years in a variety of materials.
I was inspired to produce these pieces for Sculpture for Sight as a symbol for aspiration and growth and awareness of the transient nature of growth and ageing. The use of bronze and hardwood together convey a unique visual image and presence.
