2014 Heysen Sculpture Biennial

The seventh 2014 Heysen Sculpture Biennial will have 38 artists exhibiting on 3 acres showing at The Cedars in Hahndorf. Artists will make studio sculpture and install it on site or work with the natural materials in the environment. Exhibition runs until 27 April.

 

'Rising Relics' , redgum timber, bronze, 1.8 x 1.5 x 0.25 metres, 2014

 

Rising Relics' are a group of 5 pieces that are from a series of 13 works that deal with the regrowth
 and regeneration of red gum trees and relics in a monolthic way.  They emerge from the earth and 
sprout from the surrounding environment echoing regrowth to the immediate environment.
